Charming

a poem by Olomolehin John, Nigeria

My neighbour's stunning beauty
Naturally commands heads to stare
She metamorphoses into various elegances
At will
As if she's a sculpturess among inventors of beauty
Residing within her is a drive and powering fire
The size of which if converted to watts
Can spontaneously launch a rocket
The captivating scent of her intelligence
Is a conviction and an absolute guarantee
That she's destined to be among
A handful of people living within enviable dreams
Time, as usual, will test with tempests
But a peep into the energy-size of her inner will
Often reveals
She's endowed with firm grips to withstand.
