a poem by Marcia Schechinger, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

(in memory of Jeff and a condolence to Jackie his beloved wife)

I hate death
and life after death for the living
I know that is selfish
for you are at peace

But I wonder if am I strong
Strong enough to live in the strife
without you to guide
to inspire, to motivate, to drive

They say we are here for a purpose
to help, to advise, to create
But I am still a caterpillar
not a butterfly with your golden wings

So don't forget me down here
nor the time that we spoke
For I guess I'm still needed
somewhere on this earth

Lead me in comfort
for your have God's bond
so as to finish this journey
though you are beyond

And when I am lost
please show me the way
to give through the darkness
each hand that might stray.

(my love and comfort to Jeff's family, may Jeff rest in peace, he is missed)
