"The Best Laid Spans" (Memorial Challenge) for 'JJ'

a poem by Richard Gildea, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

At lowest ebb was I, when paths did cross
(Providing outlet for such grief then felt)
For means to then express, was at a lossĀ
In disbelief at how one's cards were dealt
Yet now when reading of our friend's demise
Remembrance stIrs within my aching heart
Expressed as such, should come as no surprise
For I could not believe would e'er depart
Twas thru his vision and foundation laid
A 'Family' was forged from far and wide
'Concerns of life' could somehow be allayed
Known troubles in this World be put aside
If we who scribe, connect thru 'Poetry'
Then 'Bridge of Words' may prove his 'Legacy'
