The Grasmere Frog

a poem by Thomas Chisholm, UK

The Grasmere frog in the heat of the day
Hopping and skipping down the red bank way

Off to the annual frog hop ball
Searching for a lady with his croaking call

Sporting a bowler hat with a red bow tie
A dapper little frog with a twinkle in his eye

He meets a fine lady and they dance till dawn
Hand in hand together on a lake house lawn

The Grasmere frog with his sophisticated charm
Now walks along the red bank with his lady on his arm.
