"Cancer Sucks"

a poem by Myrna Martin, USA

I wish I could fix the world....
And take away all the pain...
I would rid the world of cancer...
And you would be whole again...
Your strength of spirit is inspiring...
Your smile is a gem...
The way your nose crinkles...
And your eyes get small, and then...
You manage to laugh your way
through the pain...
And I continue to hold your hand....
We talk of times past...
We talk of the here... and then....
Memories are sweet to cherish...
And I cherish you, my friend....
