a poem by Phillip Joseph Hussey, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

I always thought
Love was eternal
I assumed only
Hate was infernal
Until I heard a song
Love is truly dead
It came from your
Lying lips I read
You see love can’t die
Unless it was born
So I know now
I bear your scorn
Once is enough
But twice is a sign
There’s no love
You are malign
Yet another you have
A grapevine killings
The final throes
Playing my feelings
A painful end
The death of love
I’m filled with woes
The shroud is wove
