REFLECTION

a poem by Prerana Pandit Philip, India

I WAS SITTING IN THE LAWN,
I FELT LIKE PAINTED AND DRAWN.
BIRDS AND TREES SPOKE TO ME,
YOU ARE SO LONELY, ITS YOUR DESTINY,
COME AND JOIN US WE’LL SING A SONG,
DON’T BE AFRAID, YOU LOOK WITHDRAWN.
DO YOU WANT TO SING, WANT TO DANCE?
WANT TO SPEAK, WANA ASK?
SINCE YOU ARE SITTING IN THE LAWN.
SINCE YOU ARE SITTING IN THE LAWN.
I JUST KEPT LOOKING AT THE SKY,
IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL TWILIGHT,
BIRDS WERE FLYING PASSING BY,
I JUST KEPT GAZING AT THE SKY.
I JUST KEPT GAZING AT THE SKY.
COLD BREEZE BRUSHED THROUGH THE NIGHT,
SCROLLED REFLECTIONS ON ALL SIDES,
LIKE SOME STILLS STREAMING LIVE,
WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE LAWN,
I FELT THE HEAT AND THE WARMTH,
HEARD SOME NOTES FLEEING BY,
FELT LIKE CATCHING BY MY SIDE,
FELT SO SLEEPY THROUGH THE NIGHT,
FELL ASLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT.
FELL ASLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT.
