Country love

a poem by Ayesha abid, Pakistan - poetry writer, author, poet

Once in a green field lane...
where the sun struck horizon
and the whale met an ocean storm
the aquamarine sky hugged a wheat farm
upon their worked a well-formed fellow
logging his trucks and cherishing the seasonal mallow
rich in love, personified with dignity
his honesty dazzled the outskirts of sanity
a spark of purity poured through his eyes
the whisk of mustache outgrown his size
a glitter from the city twinkled his life
when a black hair maiden became his wife
winters, autumn, summer and spring
all days they laughed, danced and sing
happily ever after went by
when their love made them both to die.
