Minotaur

a poem by Melyssa G. Sprott, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Sleep away the emptiness,
darkness fills the void.
Ignorance is bliss—
the truth leaves me destroyed.

Escape the pain,
sleep a hundred days.
Never apology enough
for these darker ways.

There is no hope for me—
this is what I am.
Sleep away the emptiness,
any way I can.

No reprieve,
no mastering the maze.
Escape the pain—
sleep a hundred days.
