a poem by Melyssa G. Sprott, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

I tell you that I’m broken
and you blame it on the weather,
but I know in my heart,
not everything gets better.

I swear on my soul
I can make you forget her—
gladly break a thousand hearts
every time we are together.

I don’t want to walk away—
I am no regretter,
but I tell you that I’m broken,
and you blame it on the weather.
