Spiderlily

a poem by Melyssa G. Sprott, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Spiderlily all dressed in webs
She walks among the newly dead
It’s been too long since she has fed
So she waits silently under your bed

She’ll feast and feast upon your head
And fill your soul full of dread
Until the room starts turning red
Spiderlily all dressed in webs

She will laugh—you should have fled
Though for mercy you’ll have plead
Your skin will twist and rot instead
You will become the newly dead

Spiderlily all dressed in webs
She walks among the newly dead
Waiting silently under your bed
She’ll feast and feast upon your head
