heaven

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Earth
calls in our birth
body and shadow
idea and meadow
deciding flower with weed
the alien seed
of their souls..

Time and courtship
empty mast in the wind
sound as we strip
the stars of all sin
the lie of its need
truth as we bleed
pure existence..

One
to the power of infinity
blind flashes of sanity
breath into breeze
ghost on his knees
words where they rest
unempowered..

Earth
in every language true
grey in the blue
hands stained by ink
thoughts that can't think
nor dream
but for sleeping..

Wand
and I know I am gone
silenced by awe
the gathering of shore
on a mountain beach
all that sounds can't teach
this trembling heaven..
