Challenge 98 - Many Great Deeds Are Done in the Small Struggles of Life

a poem by Nishu Mathur, India

A butterfly never gets its wings
Without trials, without struggling

A mother’s pangs become a smile
With the first cries of her infant child

Stirring, soulful works of art
Come from the canvas of a searching heart

From sadness - oft are born
Beautiful dirges and lyrical songs

A lotus blooms in majestic worth
In mud; it’s cradle and there it’s birth -

Ah, such beauty lives in the midst of strife
What greatness comes from the struggles of life
