a poem by Mthandazo Ngwenya, Zimbabwe

There was a time, when I was so financially broke,
The curtains of hope, closing fast on me,
how I wished, the winds could sweep me away,
through the pavements, through the waters and up the skies,
Away, where them creditors ,will stop calling me,

I looked up,and lo He heard my prayers
when hope is lost, you cry like a baby,
Quarantined from success, you walk, walk, circles,
my friend I have to tell you this story,
The Lord helped me, cross the river of disappointments,

Change, comes when you are lost ,
lost in uncertainty,
the future is not tomorrow, the future is now,
mama, always told me to pray always,
this has taken me far.....far in life.
