"Just With You"

a poem by Hemendra Kumar, India - poetry writer, author, poet

I wonder, what if you were gift wrapped
And placed under my Christmas tree,
I would have hugged u tight
And kissed Santa to hear my life long plea.
Sitting next to a chimney being fired,
We could have exchanged our words.
Knowing through the heart of each other,
We could have connected our thoughts.
I would have adored you for every moment left,
But I wonder what you would have done
If, for your wish and for you, I was gift wrapped.
But all do I know that,
In the strike of midnight, to me,
If a wish was to be granted to be true,
I would have closed my eyes and wished to view
My life's Every beautiful Sunset, just with you.
