My Desire

a poem by Eferebo Chibuzor, Nigeria

My desire springs,
Like the rising orange sun.
The yellow mellow glow-
Nests at your heart!

Like the petals of burgeon hibiscuss
Budding in the morning dew,
Open thine heart-
My beautiful heart trolls
And seeks your ready heart!

To cling like a pair of compasses
Inseparably bound together!

Oh rains and fire
grips me cold and fury:
Just a warmth embrace
Or a nectar'd kiss;
We are nowhere but lost in ecstasy!

Break the mountains,
and the hills plains
I await at the door!

Up up beautiful Cherie! while i knock at your heart today,
A ready cheer awaits to receive
And we saddle a jaunt on cupid's wings
To the aisle world of you and I
