ONE WHOM I CAN CALL MY OWN

a poem by Drsudarsan Damodar Prasad, India

In a huddle
Mind in a restless bustle
Wonder and ponder
About the the order
In which events unfold and bewilder

The feeling that relationships are unreal
All that glib talk about the soul
Forging bonds eternal
When the soul is unseen,
Beyond the reach of an ordinary soul
Still in vain, We dream about a lovable human

To perceive the seed of the Divine
Sprouting and taking deep roots
In an alluring human
May be fragile, but still a lovable human
One who can
Reveal the soul pristine
To me , an ordinary human
Still the elusive soul, playing truant
As always with me , a clueless one!
