THE 100TH MUSKETEER CHALLENGE -Roy Kneale- "A Daddy's Love"

a poem by William Willis, Scotland

For my 2 yrs 6 month old Julia and for master poet Roy.

Now Daddy tries to brush your hair,
and you shout "It's too tuggy!!!!!!
I brush your teeth and cut your nails.
You make me feel so lucky.

It's time to sleep now little one,
as stairs to stars we climb.
We count them all in unison.
Today, our day's been fine.

Tomorrow is another day,
as moonbeams shade the night.
It's storytime in Daddy's room,
and much to your delight.

Your books reach high up to the sky.
A spire of words and rhyme.
Dad loves to read you stories.
It's now "Once Upon A Time. "

Like an hourglass with pages,
soon your eyelids start to flicker.
We share them snuggled up in time,
as books they will grow thicker.

This Daddy's love will lift you up
and with his kind breath whisper.
"I'll read you some Roy Douglas Kneale
when you're a little bigger."

Goodnight sweetheart.

Through the years Roy has sent me many poems and a few pictures which I have placed in a beautiful white album which will stay in my family forever more.

Thanks to Ralph for choosing this fine title and to all and every member of VN who has contributed in any way to any of the previous 100 Inspirational Challenge Titles.

A Get Well Message to Roy also and just to let him know we are thinking of him.
