I think Churchill was right

a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

I think Churchill was right,
It only took some time,
Yet it has started happening,
Right in front of our eyes.

If you know not what Churchill said,
Then let that Veil remain,
Right in front of your eyes,
Some eyes should always be blind.

I open not the eye's of the ignorant,
Let the blind just remain blind,
Why should you wake up sleepy,
Why give eyes to the blind.

Reginald Jacob

Note-“Power will go to the hands of rascals, rogues, freebooters; all Indian leaders will be of low calibre & men of straw. They will have sweet tongues and silly hearts. They will fight amongst themselves for power and India will be lost in political squabbles. A day would come when even air and water would be taxed in India.”Churchill
