100th INSPIRATIONAL CHALLENGE "I WALKED A PATH" TRIBUTE TO ROY KNEALE

a poem by Nancy Ellen Crossland, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

It seemed I searched many horizons seeking answers
What path to follow
Days sometimes left me fulfilled
Yet often, hollow
Then one day I walked a new path
Leading me to Voicesnet
That was that!

What awakened within me:
Inspiration
A calling from a distant land
Among the dear friends and poets met
One stood above the rest,
An elderly gentlemen,
Surely a noble knight from days of old
How his gift of language and style was strewn
Upon that path I followed
Finding such motivation
The most fragrant petals of a rose did indeed unfold.

I dubbed him Sir Roy.
He named me Nancy Nature;
A fondness, respect was created.

I followed a path of literary exhilaration with deep gratitude
Treasuring every phrase, word and stanza
Written be a dear man and friend who encouraged so many
Down that path that never ends.

Thank you Sir Roy for making us appreciate the beauty of classic poetry
Valuing the worth of every person and gift of life itself.
