The Greatest show on Earth

a poem by Thomas Chisholm, UK

Spring bows out with no curtain call
It's time for summer to set out her stall

Her audience filled with expectation
But with a high degree of anticipation

Summer waits patiently in the wings
With all the majesty that she brings

She enters the stage under a blinding light
On a fusion of colour oh so bright

Natures rare gems tread all around
With captivating warmth and tranquil sound

This magnificent show for us all to see
The scene is set and admission is free
