h.a.g.s

a poem by Alex Seagrave, USA

calm down
breathe slow
talk fast
dont let go

if you had a bad trip dont forget who you are
remember what we said in middle school;
i’ll see you next fall.
you’re friends with someone,
but you don't know what to say.
when you get your yearbooks to sign a farewell
all you know what to write is
‘have a great summer’ and thats it at the end of the day.
you get home and think of all the memories you made,
and the friends you think you’ll see.
now they're just people with faces in your dreams.
but you still hope
they had a great summer.
