Those Silent Raindrops Falling Free”

a poem by Dwayne Leon Rankin, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Its summer and the skies are dark
And soon those clouds will leave their mark
Then comes, a whisper to my ear;
Can you feel rain draw near?

And so I listened to their plea;
“Come, you’ll see.....
...................All those raindrops falling free”.

‘Twas then I felt the breeze that blows;
As ‘cross the sky, it softly flows.
I heard the silent raindrops fall;
Within my heart I hear their call.

Soft they whispered then to me;
“Now soon you’ll see.....
................ Those silent raindrops falling free.”

And as those winds then blew on through;
Those raindrops start to fall anew.
I can hear them patter on the pane;
That silence sound of falling rain.

And then the wind, it says to me;
“Now do you see.....?
.................Those raindrops falling, falling free.”

Upon the grass and on the earth;
The rain, it comes to bring rebirth.
And so my soul is then renewed;
From all the falling rain I viewed.

“Oh sky and wind and clouds, ‘tis me;
I hear and see....
..................Those silence raindrops falling free.”
