Magical beings

a poem by Leif Phillips, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

I met some Magical beings
this morning
they had woken me
without warning like
demanded I cook them breakfast
I had the feeling
to refuse
but a sense I couldn’t lose
they would be demanding.

I cooked them up some beans
these Magical beings
flapjacks as well don’t mind you
coffee’s I brewed
they asked about the fishing
and I’m just wishing
I had a rod
could catch me some huge Marlin!!!

ate, every morsel you could say
tipped their magical little hats
said they would be on their way
I said how about a refill
which they jumped at
got a couple of selfies
with the Magical beings like
how often does that happen?
