Painted memories

a poem by Mark Wayne Gittings, UK

A lonesome seagull drifts across the sky
I reflect here on times gone by
Going through all the ups and downs
All the smiles and all of the frowns

The memories painted in my mind
Thinking about all of the happy times
From when I was young up and until now
These days have sped, gone somehow

Making mistakes but getting through
Always hopeful for a sky of blue
A lonesome seagull passes by
Reflecting while gazing at the sky.
