The Holy Union

a poem by Raghunandan Ram, India

God’s passion to feed
Love in human breed,
Made Adam and Eve
To close the cleave
And to enter a union,
Which the monks say
From a cozy holy stay:
A Cupid-concupiscence
Or, a libidinal influence
That obtrudes nurture
Of human nature,
But the saints of no pelf
Renouncing their self
Say, a creative venture
To activate Nature
Through first parents;
The potent advents
To patent a link
To act, speak & think
What God created
For the union of Beings,
And the unity of Nation.
