A WRITER’S BLOCK

a poem by Syl Espina, Philippines - poetry writer, author, poet

Just a poem a day,
Is all I can say.

One chapter a day
For my book today.

How can I not sigh?
I lack no supply.

My tools are ready,
My hands are steady.

Why do I dally?
Words are formed slowly.

Must I exercise
To get energized?

I want to break out
From this ugly bout.

I am a writer,
And a brave fighter.

I fight to unlock
This poor writer’s block.
