Water-colour

a poem by Charles Fisher, UK

Hearing that a sea mistress,
Taken her husband, she cries
In anguish on his side of the bed:
No gravestone to visit
No harbouring of tears upon his grave
No walk towards the cemetery,
Upon the hill, that over looked,
The boats berthed in the harbour,
Under the influence of the rainfall

At the harbour,
The young married wife,
Waited for her newly husband,
To tell him the joyous news,
As the raindrops fell on her umbrella,
That gave her some shelter
