Hold Your Dreams

a poem by Lady Shaula Salathe, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Hold your dreams as dear as children,
careful who you tell
Some people they'll push you higher,
others break the spell

Mold your dreams in cautious silence
But don't wait too long
Understand a moment comes
when you must shout
clear and strong

Tend your dreams as fragile seedlings
Tend to how they grow
Or else no one will know

and all that is gold does not glitter
a diamond may be in the rought
but if you peel off the layers
I've stacked all around me
you'll find a light, shining
brightly, brightly enough.

[circa 2010]
