the Box

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Air
and fifty million years ago
this road, this corner
this place in the sun
filling my lungs of their share
merry coordinates

natural festival and fair
light and the bear
resemblence to our souls
of beings so long anon
and unknown of species..

Age
inching quiet through the lasts’..
modern history
eating animal and civilisation quietly
a breath to the parched
vain truth

searching dopamines of proof
conversation.. of its poetry
an Age crawling through our hearts
a sound calling as it departs..
and unknown of species
