A bump in the night ( When I have time on my hands ! )

a poem by Westly Alexander Shaw, USA

When I have time on my hands,
I enjoy taking the time to share with you
a general observation, that goes
something like this.

I felt a bump on the road tonight, and my
front tire went flat.
The lights on my car showed it to be black
and white, but it didn't smell like a skunk.
I met my first porcupine tonight, and it quills
were sharp as needles.
Why did it have to be sitting in the middle of
the road, in the middle of the velvet blanket of
No more groaning sounds will it make.

I guess he was a reminder that life can be short.
To make the most of the time you have.
And a reminder to look both ways before crossing
the road.
