My Dream For Tomorrow (Rhymer’s Challenge)

a poem by Nishu Mathur, India

In this world of beautiful golden things
May we teach our children to love the unloved things...
The cast asides, the weeds, the forgotten saplings.
May our children hear the voices unheard
The unsaid, muted, the silent songs of birds.
May they love the rain as much as the sun
As their hands steady the unsteady ones.
May they walk beside those slow
To a land of flowers and rainbows.
May their smiles be seen, may their voices sing
In the midst and in love of the unloved things.

Inspired by the poem and words of Nicolette Sowder - May we raise children who love the unloved things...

A repost.

Will write one for the challenge soon, meanwhile, a repost.
