Alone and Not

a poem by Melyssa G. Sprott, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

I wander…
Passion is a plague.
Indulge that fire,
Following touch—
I chase the need
Beneath and through.
A beautiful,
Warm thought;
Between
Grotesque love
And mindless pleasure
Lingers the tender caress
Of madness.
Insanity is the slow caress
Of hot blood
On pale skin.
Soft decay
Like liquid dirt
Drinking salt.
I wander…
Alone and not.
