THE MOTHER OF PONDICHERRY
Mother India is a land of peace,
It’s well known for its tolerance.
On its soil flourish many religions,
With different faiths and visions.
The Hindus, Muslims, Christians,
Buddhists, Jews, Parsis, and Jains,
To quote a few, they grow up well,
Each one following its laid up rule.
In this wide spread material world,
India is more spiritually developed,
Turning itself as a mother of all faiths,
To reach that one God thru’ many ways.
As in a building having four staircases,
One can go up by one’s own choice,
To reach the first floor by many steps,
So is that one God for all the faiths.
This is the concept of the Hindus,
That binds, on its soil, all religions,
Each one respecting well the other,
Without any kind of fear or favor.
Messengers many had come and gone,
To show the path that led to the divine,
God, the Almighty, the All-Powerful,
The Invisible, but the Most Merciful.
Each one spoke God is one,
In the language of his own,
But claimed that his religion
Was only the most powerful one.
Whenever the virtue subsides,
And the merciless vice prevails,
God Himself descends down
On this earth from His Heaven.
Thus He came many times to save,
This world from a disastrous grave,
In order to keep it safe and sound,
Also to maintain peace on its ground.
While the material soul goes outside,
In search of wealth in this world,
The spiritual soul dives deep inside
Within one’s heart in search of God.
No doubt, the wealth is important,
In this world to survive and float,
But to enjoy God’s heavenly treasure,
One should earn His will and pleasure.
