Fear

a poem by Chad Martinez, USA

Nervous for the end is near
A last breath goodbye
A loved one's sigh
The anguish hearts show clear
The fear of the unknown

A glimpse of heaven with a fear of hell
There is no more time left to ring the bell

The sky seems to be falling as death leaves its toll.
The air no longer safe to breathe
Social distancing will also run its course.
The virus is here to stay
Until a bright and sunny summer day that comes and wipes its traces away
and only then life will begin as normal.

Blinded by goals of a "just a regular day"
Some many kids want to go out to play
To make friends
But for now they must stay
In their homes
In
Fear.

May God Bless Us All
