The Sunset And The Geese

a poem by Elizabeth Gaye Trondsen, Canada

I drive home in the sad era of Covid-19.
I feel anxious and sorrowful over the suffering.
O Lord, have mercy on this frightened world.
For we are helpless and weak.
In the face of this crisis.

I turn my eyes away from the turmoil and the fear.
To see a beautiful sunset of pinkest hue.
Over the mountains, so far yet so near.
I smile.
Amazed.
Then the sky fills with Canada geese.
One flock after another.
So many are they.
Lord, is this a sign from the heavens?
That Your help is on the way?
Will You rain down healing upon the nations,
And set free those bound in this virus's chains.

As I gaze at the painted sky and watch the geese,
Anxiety flees.
And I am at
peace.
God will save.
God will save us.

----"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever believes in Him shall not perish, put have eternal life." --John 3:16. God is waiting to save you, to love you, to comfort you. Will you call out to Him?
Praying for you all in this difficult time. God bless.
