SAI015, PROBLEMS OF DEVOTEES (1)

a poem by Rajaram Ramachandran, India - poetry writer, author, poet

SHIRDI SAI BABA

One Mr. M. G. Pradhan lost his son,
Who died when he was just seven,
With no interest in life, he was upset,
In his daily activities, he kept quiet.

One night, he had a strange dream
Of four Sadhus sitting before him,
And he wanted to know who was
Sai Baba among those four Saints.

One of them pointed out the Saint,
And very much happy he then felt,
Having seen Sai Baba in his dream
As a rare opportunity given to him.

When he went to Shirdi next time,
He saw Sai Baba, as seen by him,
The same person in his dream
Was sitting there before him.

Baba told, he knew him well,
And revealed all the details
About his Mumbai residence,
And his garden with the trees.

Pradhan was convinced then
That Sai Baba was no ordinary man
But a Saint, who looks so simple
And worshiped by all the people.

He heard the Saint’s comments
“Why this fool so much laments
About his son’s untimely death,
That’s simply going to the earth.”

Pradhan and his wife became
His devotees from that time,
Leaving all their worries
About their personal losses.

Sai Baba’s extraordinary powers
Are not visible on the surface,
But it works well on the minds
Of all his devotees in seconds.

He takes the pains of his devotees,
Giving them all his blessings,
And their problems are solved,
Back home when they returned.
