SHIRDI SAI BABA
Day by day the number of visitors,
Had increased by leaps and bounds,
That controlling the crowd became,
Very difficult at Shirdi every time.
As Shirdi became a pilgrim center,
Gifts and presentations began to pour,
And the daily ceremony of Sai worship,
By Devotees was fast growing up.
In the early hours, Sai Baba said,
His prayers, with none by his side,
Then adding fuel to the sacred fire,
He gave devotees in brief his lecture.
It was about where he had gone
In his yogic body, what he had done,
To his devotees on that occasion,
That became a fact on verification.
Whatever he had got as gifts,
Of Money and several sweets,
He gave them to poor people
Without touching them all.
He begged for food, not one time,
But went round several times,
To feed the poor and animals,
With food donated by a few houses.
His daily life was full of activities,
With all his visitors and devotees,
Who stayed there to keep the place
Clean and tidy as their voluntary duties.
Sai Baba used to walk up and down,
With a batch of people from the town,
Who was keeping the pathway clean,
By sweeping and watering every lane.
It was like a daily festival,
An enjoyment to all people,
That went on, as a routine,
Keeping Shirdi neat and clean.
It’s not possible here to mention,
In one chapter his daily routine,
As thousands of devotees kept him
Busy at Shirdi most of the time.
