Solitary Distress

a poem by Alabi Tawab Abiodun, Nigeria

Having been to a state of misery
Life being pierced with complexity
I can't even conject
Progress in this venomous livelihood
Unless gripping the Antidote

Imagine hoping for a hand
To aid your bleeding nerves
Hopes being hopeless in the long run
Realising no hand is supportive
I think I should drop more salty drops
