a poem by Phillip Joseph Hussey, UK

Who can see my tears
In the rain are the skies
Tears not just the same
Even as I think now
Of my love ever lost
I wonder who’s to blame
Oh wretched love
Which spawns over time
A thousand drops stream
As I walk in the storm
Drenched inside out
I think of my loves dream
Gone forever in time
Never to return to me
Forlorn is my heart’s life
Despair is its reward
Will it turn again to fire
And a love without strife
The storm is clearing
Clouds begin to recede
As I find my rest in sleep
Looking out at the sky
There on the horizon
A ray of light does peep
