a poem by Maryann Bosah, UK

What have we learnt about this week
When made aware of mental health
The guilt, the stress and low esteem
Are warning signs we can't ignore

Dramatic changes in what they do
Excessive fear and anxiety
Where worry festers and does not stop
Are other things that point to it

So do we judge the paranoid?
Our push away the guilt they feel
Which makes them sad, withdrawn , depressed
With no one they can call or trust

It's left to us to take the step
Encourage them to talk not stress
About the things which are complex
That can be solved if they check

We therefore need to understand
What they go through and not by chance
defeat that feeling of such hopeless
By showing them kindness, love and hopefulness

Awareness concluded.Copyright(c).Maryann Bosah 2020.All rights reserved
