Living in Our Bubble.

a poem by Mark Ainslie, UK

Living in our Bubble.

Never spent so much time at home,
Like millions of others we're not alone.
It has somehow become the norm,
With new daily routines being born.

I've used most of the old paint we had,
No more painting of that I'm glad.
I've been in our garden as much as I could,
Even made birdhouses out of scraps of wood.

Our garden now looking quite a treat,
Grass is cut and borders are neat.
Good that I've had garden chores,
Think I'd of gone mad stuck indoors.

Lucky that the weather's been so fine,
Getting a good tan without even trying.
I'm getting through tasks at a gentle pace,
Which helps me keep my sanity in place.

We'd rather have things the way they were,
And having all the grandchildren there.
I think it's good we've been able to cope.
Normality will return of that we hope.

It will be wonderful to visit everyone again,
When all this confinement will eventually end.
Keeping busy has kept me out of trouble,
Think we've done well Living in our bubble.
