Normality Will Come Again

a poem by Mark Ainslie, UK

Normality Will Come Again.

The grandkids now don't run and hug,
They stand back due to covid 19 bug.
Getting too close would be amiss,
No chance now of a goodbye kiss.

They are not even able to come indoor,
Do they understand why, not quite sure.
It's a shame they can't get too close,
Cries of laughter missed the most.

But one day this will all be in the past,
And we will all be able to meet at last.
We can hug those we hold so dear,
Able to move about without sensing fear.

A certain normality will come again,
We must stay vigilant until then.
Happier times lie ahead I pray,
When this horrible virus goes away.
