JUNE 12, DEMO KRATIA

a poem by Ayoade Sulaimon Oriyomi, Nigeria

A philanthropist came with an agenda
'HOPE 93, farewell to poverty"
But he never knew,
It was a farewell to his life

The masses filed out in thousands
To decide who would paddle their affairs
The event had villains
Who pose as a friend to MKO

IBB, the "Evil Genius" himself
History will never forget you
As the architect of JUNE 12 debacle
Who dwindle away the "HOPE" of many

"I believed in a friend"
"I trusted a friend and he betrayed me"
MKO dined with a sheep in human clothing
The grievous mistake in his life

Moshood mandate was stolen
Kashimawo was betrayed
Olawale was detained
Abiola was killed

Twenty seven years has passed
Since the election deemed credible was truncated
Its been Twenty seven years
That DEMOCRACY died in Nigeria.
