Stop the Gun Violence

a poem by Shaunda Yvette, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Walk by, they shooting.
Drive by, they shooting.
Laugh by, they shooting.
My gun
My trigger
My pen
My pad
Yet they mad...
Yet they mad...
What you mad for...
You a killer,
You a shooter
And you black
Yet that don't matter.
Yet that don't matter.
Yet that don't matter.
You mad, well I'm angry
Cause another black mother crying over her daughter.
Shot multiple times in a drive by.
All we got are drive bys
And funerals...
Stop the gun violence.
All we got are drive bys
And funerals...
Stop the gun violence.
All we got are drive bys
And funerals...
Stop the gun violence.
Little babyface shooters and killers
With no aim
Can't even hit a target.
Yet ya mama can stand on line at Target like she ain't got a care in the world.
Meanwhile her son
Doing drive bys shooting up the summer time like its 1985.
Stop the gun violence!
