a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

A single surfer
on the waves of our souls
a heart
With wings and ears
tinkering with the words
my heart
the places
I haven’t been stripped naked..

the poetry refrains
watching spot-fires
on a dormant sun
the deeper faith of your kiss
A poetic silence
saying everything
every crack, discarded sledgehammer
every anonymous sun
sitting just beyond the stars
shadows as they wonder.
