Happy Birthday

a poem by Randolph Krauch, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

You know I hold a candle for you...
I guess I always will
But today I will light for you
Twenty-five candles on a hill

On a hill of cake and icing
Twenty-five candles will burn bright
A thoughtful pause for wishing...
Good luck! Now, blow out all the light

And if you find this age of Twenty-five a
Landmark, well that's really quite alright
Because you're a whole year wiser and only
A day older than when you went to bed last night
