THE PRICE OF COAL [Maggie Thatcher ]

a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Hard working miners
come out of that place
There's a sky up above
and fresh air to embrace
Leave all the dangers
and dust down that mine
There's a far better world
where all is refined
Hard working miners
what a price you did pay
Toiling in the dark
Whilst the government had their way
Now you are History
Though no one forgets
When Maggie deceived you
With inconsiderate regrets .
