Voices From The Past

a poem by Sue Williams, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

"Hello, mom? Is that you?
Where'd you go?
It's been so long.
I hear your voice,
but you're not there.
How've you been?
I miss you so!"

"Hello, Bro.? Your
voice is clear!
How I long
to have you near.
Please don't fade,
I need you here,
I love you
oh so dear"

Sometimes alone,
or maybe not,
I hear your voice,
calling my name.
Whispers grow,
clear as a bell,
here in the flesh,
it's hard to tell.

If I respond,
and use your name,
on my shoulders,
don't lay the blame.
"She's gone nuts!",
some will say,
for they don't know
how I feel today".
