9-1-1 Luck

a poem by Sue Williams, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

these are kind of weirdo lyrics...maybe they're workable...i'm happy to have any kind of thoughts on it...thanks a doodle!

v1

When rain makes away with your Brand new truck,
Cross-eyed teach writes “F” and says “Boo hoo, son!”
And things happen that suck life’s fun,
don't pick up the phone and dial 9-1-1,
LUCK!

Chorus

9-1-1 Luck, Can really get things done,
tell ‘em what’s up, how life’s done you so wrong.
That it has you singin’ this dorky song,
You’re on your last leg, beggin’ those at 9-1-1,
LUCK.

v2

Who do you think answers 9-1-1 Luck?
Could it be the aunt who pinched yer cheeks red,
Or is it the guy who rear-ended your car instead?
Don’t pick up the phone and dial 9-1-1
LUCK!

Chorus

9-1-1 Luck, Can they really get things done,
tell ‘em what’s up, how life’s done you so wrong.
That it has you singin’ this dorky song,
You’re on your last leg, beggin’ those at 9-1-1,
LUCK

refrain (talk to the music no sing)

Don’t dial that number! It’s a jinx, I say!
If you get the urge, push yourself away!
I’m not jokin’, now! You think it’s cool,
To get thrown into that pool…
…in winter!
…brr!
…looks like sludge, to me!
…gross!
Smart! Real Smart! You just had to go and do it,
Hate ta say “Told ya so”.
You must be a redneck looking for
the bigger better deal, huh?
9-1-1 Luck! Who invented that anyway?
Must’ve been some schmuck lookin’ ta change their luck!
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
